More about the clinic

This project is intent on reviving the ancient Siddha Medicine, a system of traditional medicine using a very holistic and comprehensive approach to health. The body is considered to reflect cosmic oneness, and even diet and lifestyle are deemed to be not only ways of restoring the innate harmony of the individual but also methods for curing disease.

siddha medicine
A lot has been achieved from May to September 2020, but there is still a lot to do.

The system incorporates spiritual regimens, potent miracle herbs, Yoga and many indigenous therapies used for millennia. Siddhas believe that only by caring for our mortal inheritance do we arrive at the realization of our highest potentialities.

If you also feel passionate about preserving the ancient wisdom of healing and well-being, as well as supporting a local rural community in Tamil Nadu and the spiritual growth of humanity, then please consider making a donation toward our project. We need your support!

The beginning of the passion

Soma photographed here in May 2020 breaking ground before the construction begins.

For as long as he can remember Somananda was attracted to ancient healing remedies and natural medicine. During his late 20s, he spent time in India seriously and passionately pursuing his spiritual studies and committing to an intense daily sadhana, or spiritual practice. This extended period in India also served as his first introduction to the science and history of Ayurveda and the South Indian Siddha Medicine.

Siddha means perfection in Sanskrit and the Siddha System of Medicine emerged from the traditional Tamil region of India, where it is largely concentrated even today. It is considered to be India’s oldest system of healing and is based on a combination of ancient medicinal practices and spiritual disciplines as well as alchemy and mysticism. Some say the knowledge of this system emanates directly from the Divine, or God himself.

A spiritual quest

Soma was enchanted by the great lore about Siddha Medicine and its promise of supernatural phenomena, absolute health and paranormal effects. He spent the next 15 years in passionate pursuit of genuine texts and scriptures, direct knowledge, and bona fide gurus that still possessed this secret and ancient wisdom. To his dismay, much of the true knowledge was lost and what was left was a watered down version void of any real potential or divine roots – a tragic result of Kali Yuga, the times in which we currently live.

This is how the foundation construction started – all from scratch and with a lot of manual work.

He met many charlatans along the way with empty promises. Soma’s faith in the Divine and his relentless and tenacious determination, coupled with God’s grace, eventually helped him to realize his dream. Through divine intervention and an accurate astrological prediction, he was led to a direct descendent and disciple of the ancient Siddha Medicine in Tamil Nadu in March of 2020.

He has now spent an extended period of time living with a true Siddha healer and his family serving as an understudy. Soma’s intuition about the incredible healing power of this ancient remedy was proven and verified. His decision to fund the construction of a local Siddha Medicine clinic seemed like a natural, logical, and spiritually sanctified decision. In gratitude and appreciation, the local village people insisted it be called “Somananda Siddha Clinic.” Soma was honored.

Finishing the foundation in July 2020 was a big milestone.

The spiritual mission of the Somananda Siddha Clinic

At a time when current world events are paving the way to a dark and dismal future of government-decreed health mandates and screenings, and the individual is threatened with a loss of sovereignty over his or her health and body, Soma felt his discovery and the answer to his prayers came with impeccable timing.

His decision to invest time, energy, and finances in the creation of a local Siddha Medicine clinic was predicated on the following strong vision and mission:

  • The resurrection and restoration of lost Siddha Medicine remedies and formulas and making them available for modern humans.
  • Research and development of secret alchemical formulas known to enhance a person’s spiritual evolution potential and amplify success on the tantric and yogic paths exponentially.

The roof of the clinic will be specifically prepared to host groups for Tantra and Yoga workshops, outdoors lectures and meditations.
  • The creation of potent and natural remedies which are needed now more than ever to neutralize the toxic assaults modern human beings are faced with every day. Boosting the regeneration of our health and longevity, and becoming spiritually armed and prepared for the potential lethal sanctions that maybe imposed upon humankind in the not-so-distant future.
  • To provide affordable and effective natural remedies for the various diseases and health conditions that afflict the poor local population at a drastically reduced cost or fully subsidized, when needed.
  • To have a natural healing center approved, endorsed, and managed by Somananda personally which, in time, would also be open to Somananda Tantra School students and friends who seek ancient nature-derived remedies for modern-day health conditions.

You can make a difference

In recent satsangs and other online teachings Somananda began sharing what was previously his private journey and quest more openly with students. He was deeply moved by the outpouring of interest, excitement, questions, and offers to donate to the project, and he was thus guided to shift the clinic dream from a private endeavor to a public cause and charity.

If you feel inspired by the spiritual intent and objectives of the building, creation, and ongoing day-to-day operation of the Somananda Siddha Clinic, your donation would be welcomed and received with the utmost gratitude.

Your donation will go towards the following for the clinic:

  • Paying for the ongoing monthly running costs
  • Completing the exterior and interior construction
  • Buying all needed furniture, equipment and supplies
  • Employing the needed staff to oversee the day-to-day operations of the clinic
  • Providing free or subsidized healthcare for the local Indian community when needed
  • Creating a Siddha Medicine pharmacy and continuing with research and study of this ancient knowledge

It is Somananda’s sincerest hope, given the urgency and acceleration of global circumstances, that with your financial contribution the clinic will be operational sooner rather than later, and most importantly, in time and before this knowledge is permanently lost.

Project updates

Update from 22 February 2022

On 25 September 2021 Somananda and his Indian family hosted a grand opening ceremony for the clinic and officially opened the doors to the public. Shortly after this celebration, Soma left India and headed back to Estonia and from there he and Liisa traveled together to Nicaragua which is their current home base.

The clinic is fully operational and being managed by Soma’s trusted friend and Siddha doctor. He continues to offer holistic healing to patients who would otherwise be doomed to pharmaceutical drugs and surgeries.

Soma witnessed first hand, time and time again, how Siddha Medicine, using alchemical herbs and medicines derived from nature, helped people who were suffering from stroke, cancer, tumors, drug addictions and diabetes.

Many of these patients came to the Siddha doctor with a “terminal” diagnosis and a death sentence from their allopathic doctor. Siddha medicine is truly a gift and contains within it alchemical properties and magical healing potential.

Interesting photos from the clinic

In this photo below is the oil massage bed and herbal steam sauna (the blue box where you can sit inside with the head sticking out). These are two foundational healing modalities at the clinic.

Pictured here is the clinic storage room where the herb preparation equipment, raw materials, books on ancient remedies and storage containers are stored.

Additionally, this room is the “medicine cabinet” of the clinic where the most commonly used medicines are prepared in advance, stored and ready for use.

Latest developments and progress

Here a list of the latest developments and progress of the clinic operations:

  • Two assistants have been hired and are assisting the Siddha doctor with foraging of the herbs and compounding the medicines.
  • The clinic is officially registered and recognized by the Indian government as an established business and healing clinic.
  • Local villagers come to the clinic daily for treatments and healing. Word is spreading fast amongst the Indian people and the Somananda Siddha Medicine Clinic is slowly becoming a household name.
  • Treatments and medicines are available to all regardless of status or income. No patient is ever turned away. There are subsidies that are offered – either partial or full – depending on the needs and circumstances of the patient. Donations from our donors have made this possible!
  • The auxiliary building is near completion. If you remember, there was a secondary structure that was being built for the storing of the herbs and the housing of the large herb processing machines.
  • The clinic is now fully furnished, including an oil massage bed and a herbal steam sauna.
  • The research and development room is now fully stocked with herbs, alchemic concoctions and medicines.

All in all, Soma feels great contentment and fulfillment in all that he was able to experience and achieve during his time in India. His faith, efforts and determination paid off and he was able to get access to some amazing spiritual technologies and medicines. This was a lifelong dream that has now been fully realized.

In this short video you will get a tour of the clinic including the reception area, one of the treatment rooms as well as the clinic storage room.

In this short video you will see some of the local villagers processing the herbs and preparing them to be used in alchemical concoctions and medicines.

Here is a short tour of the auxiliary building that is being constructed next to the clinic. This is a secondary structure that will eventually store all of the harvested herbs and the large herb processing machines.

A personal message from Soma and Liisa for our donors

“Thank you to our dear donors for making this vision of Somananda’s a reality. We are both incredibly grateful for and humbled by your belief and excitement in this project and for your financial contribution.

It is still a wish of ours to go back to India someday and host spiritual and healing retreats at the clinic. We hope world events will allow that to come to fruition. If it does, we will welcome you with open arms.”

Help is still needed!

If you feel passionate about preserving the ancient wisdom of natural healing and well-being, supporting a local rural community in Tamil Nadu and preserving the spiritual growth of humanity, then please consider making a donation towards this worthy project.

Update from 1 July 2021

The construction of Somananda Siddha Clinic in India has made substantial progress since our last update to you in February of this year.

90% of our fundraising goal has been achieved! Our estimated budget for the clinic was €50,000, and so far a total of €44,069 has been raised which includes €26,369 from our donors and €17,700 from Somananda Tantra School.

Wow, what a landmark we have reached on this journey! None of this could have been achieved without your faith in the mission, generous support and financial contributions.

€5,931 is still needed for the final finishing touches and furnishings and in order to open the clinic fully to the public.

It is a good time to send an update to all of you to show you exactly what your support has made possible thus far.

We are now in the home stretch of making this spiritual dream and mission a reality and would like to appeal to each of you, our cherished benefactors and donors. If just 120 of you donated €50 today we would reach 100% of our financial goal.

Outlined below is the work that has been completed in the last 4 months and what final works remain before the Grand Opening.

If you resonate with the mission of the clinic and Soma’s vision, please consider donating to this worthwhile project.

Your help is really needed to prevent the siddha knowledge from disappearing entirely and making natural medicine available for the rural community of Kanyakumari, India, and to the world abroad.

Works that have been accomplished since February

Exterior

The exterior of the clinic is near completion. As you can see the outside paint is both colorful and beautiful and inline with local customs and traditions.

The stairs are ornately adorned with golden figures of goddesses commonly worshipped in the local community where the clinic is located.

To the left of the stairs, under the metal veranda roof, is the designated area for drying the herbs that are used in Siddha medicine. The construction of this area has been finalized.

The drying of the herbs is just one step of a multistep process in the creation of powerful, rare and alchemical herbs used to treat an array of diseases and imbalances that frequently afflict the human mind, body and spirit.

Signage

Two custom signs have been designed and fabricated for Somananda Siddha Clinic. One larger, metal sign that is bright and multicolored, is strategically placed so it can be easily seen from the main road. A smaller engraved stone placard depicting the ancient Siddha master, Agasthiar, as well as the seal of Shambhala sits above the main entrance of the clinic.

In addition to the works described above, we have also accomplished the following:

  • Concrete path laid around the clinic
  • Doors have been purchased and installed throughout
  • Perimeter cleanup and beautifying of the outside areas
  • Plumbing has been completed and electrical has been installed
  • Reception area has been created to receive and process patients
  • A walking path from the main road to the clinic reception is 50% complete
  • A designated private Siddha massage room has been set up and an oil massage bed purchased
  • Small equipment has been bought for the research room such as burners, stoves, and cookware

What works remain before the Grand Opening:

With your help and kind donations we can raise the final monies to complete these remaining projects before the Grand Opening of Somananda Siddha Clinic:

  • Painting of the interior walls
  • Completion of the perimeter fence
  • Roof tiling and solar panel installation
  • Final furnishings such as chairs and tables
  • Installation of tile throughout the entire clinic
  • Completion of the walking path from the main road to the clinic reception
  • Purchasing of the large herb processing equipment for the research room

 A personal note from Soma

“Construction has been hindered more recently due to total lockdown and mandatory and enforced house arrest in India.

From a spiritual perspective, such challenges, hurdles and further delays indicate a degree of karmic blockages. I perceive this as a positive sign and a testament of being on the right path and carrying out the work of the Divine.

When a project, or any action in life for that matter, carries with it a seed of potential for powerful change, transformation and shifts to planetary and collective consciousness, it is common to face obstacles and setbacks along the way.

This is not a time to quit or give up. On the contrary, it is a time to intensify and strengthen your motivation and determination.

I remain resolute in achieving our quest and mission and executing my vision for the Somananda Siddha Clinic, and my faith in Shiva’s Will continues to be unwavering.

With your help and contributions it is entirely possible that come late July or August the clinic will be ready to be opened for business once the lockdowns are lifted.

Join me in this endeavor and together we can preserve the ancient Siddha tradition while confronting what lies ahead in the not so distant future with ancient natural remedies combined with spiritual alchemy and magic. This is and will be our greatest defense as devotees to the evolutionary path.”

Update from 25 February 2021

The clinic project has been blessed with many enthusiasts and supporters since first going public.

We have raised a total of €39,303 out of our estimated budget of €50,000, as of today. Somananda Tantra School has contributed €17,700 and our donors have funded €21,603 thus far.

We are not done yet though! An additional €10,000 is needed to finish the construction and to open Somananda Siddha Clinic to the public.

Progress was slowed the last few months as South India entered its rainy season. Building and construction plans had to be put on hold and postponed until weather conditions improved.

Now, with additional funds being raised and more suitable weather on the horizon, construction will once again commence in February 2021.

Below is a list of final works that are still needed before the clinic is fully operational:

  • Plumbing and electrical
  • Tile installation in all rooms
  • General furnishings and cabinetry
  • Roof tiling and solar panel installation
  • Area clean-up and building of perimeter fence
  • Creating a footpath from the main road to the clinic
  • White washing and painting of interior and exterior walls
  • Building a designated area fit for harvesting and drying herbs
  • Purchasing of research room materials and equipment such as a herb grinder and trituration system

But we are not done yet! The initial building and operational costs of the Somananda Siddha Clinic for the first year were estimated at €50,000.

At the moment the construction is on hold as all funds have been exhausted.

A lot has been achieved, however, we are only half way there. In order to open the clinic to the public, we estimate that an additional €22,000 is needed for total completion of the infrastructure.

For now, the budget has been disbursed and construction has stopped until further financial resources can be raised.

For the last 6 months Soma has been in South India creating something extraordinarily important and meaningful, as well as pursuing a spiritual passion and dream that is near and dear to his heart.

After much hard work, research, travel, prayer, meditation, tenacity and faith in the Divine, Soma has conceived and is in the process of constructing the…

Somananda Siddha Clinic

The initial building and operational costs of the Somananda Siddha Clinic for the first year are estimated to be €50,000.

So far Somananda Tantra School has contributed €15,000 and our donors have funded €5,270. We are still in need of a substantial amount to meet the budget.

The construction of the clinic officially started in May 2020 and is ongoing. The foundation has been laid and the walls and roof of this new building are almost complete.

It is a brand new construction with dedicated rooms and spaces allocated for various activities for the Siddha Medicine development such as:

  • Patient treatment rooms
  • Pharmacy and dispensary
  • Holy temple and puja room
  • Research lab and medicinal cookery
  • Herbs management (harvesting, drying and storing)

All of these rooms will eventually need furniture, specialized equipment and supplies.

We hope to open the clinic to local village people by the first quarter in 2021, and for western visitors and our students some time mid 2021, if world circumstances will allow it.

Timely updates will be posted here, sent via our newsletter and posted in our social media channels regarding the progress of the construction and the eventual opening of the clinic.
